At the close of nominations, the following nominations had been received:

Following the close of nominations, David Bullock withdrew his nomination for Secretary. Thus the following positions were declared elected unopposed:

Having already been elected, these people took no further part in the election process and their other nominations were ignored.
A postal ballot was held among AUUG's 322 voting members for the following postions:

The voting papers were returned via the AUUG PO Box, and forwarded to the Returning Officer by AUUG's Business Manager.
The Returning Officer and Assistant Returning Officer conducted a count of the votes received at 1300 on Monday, 7 July 2003.
75 envelopes were received, making a voter turnout of 23%. However one envelope did not have the voter declaration filled in and was set aside. The other 74 were checked against a list of financial members provided by the AUUG Business Manager and found to be from voting members of AUUG.
Having checked the declarations, we removed the outer envelopes, mixed the papers then removed the inner envelopes, then proceeded with the counting. It should be noted that we found no informal votes - nice following of instructions, people!

Thus we declare that the Ordinary Committee Members, in order of election, are: Steve Landers, Jonathon Coombes, David Bullock, Michael Still, and Stephen Rothwell.
As Michael Tuke is the only nominee not already elected to another position, he is declared elected as Returning Officer.
As there are no candidates remaining for this election, the position of Assistant Returning Officer remains vacant.
